SELFORMER STUDIO POLICIES

 

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and clean environment by respecting and honoring our studio policies

Health Waiver 

All clients must sign a health waiver before attending their first class. Please arrive 15 minutes before your booked class to fill out the form at the studio or fill it out on our mobile app or website.

Cancellation Policy

Please be aware that classes are on a first-come, first-served basis. Classes can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.

Life can be unpredictable, especially in New York City. We understand that things happen and plans change!

Out of fairness to all our clients, Selformer has a strict 12-hour cancellation policy for all group classes/self-service video classes and a 24-hour cancellation policy for all private appointments. Private appointments not canceled 24 hours in advance will be fully charged and not refundable. 
Early cancellations: Cancellations or changes made before 12 hours of the booking time are considered early cancellations and are eligible for full credit.

 

Late Cancellations 

Cancellations or changes made within 12 hours of booking are considered late cancellations and are not eligible for a credit or refund.

Class late arrivals: Please arrive early for a smooth check-in experience. For safety, you will not be permitted to join after class begins.

Private session no-shows 

Out of respect for our clients, employees, and instructors, if a client is more than 5 minutes late for a class or a video session, the client will not be able to attend the booked session and may rebook for another time. 

Unlimited Pass Members Late Cancellation Fee: $10 Fee

Unlimited Pass Members No-Show Fee: $20

 

We do not accept cancellations via email, phone, or social media.

 

No exceptions. No refunds. No credits.


Self-Service Video Sessions

We trust our clients to make correct assessments regarding their health and Pilates experience to determine which class level they should take while using our self-service video classes. We recommend at least two private sessions with one of our instructors for beginners. We do not recommend taking video classes if you do not feel safe or if you are physically unwell.

Payment and Refunds

 

All Sales are final.

 

Booking purchases are non-refundable. Clients can receive credit back into their Selformer Wallet or use the credit at our retail store.

Retail purchases are eligible for exchange or refund to the client's wallet. If items need to be refunded, the client pays all transaction fees.

 

All private sessions must be paid in full within 24 hours of receiving an invoice to secure the spot.


Injury

Selformer instructors are movement professionals. However, not all instructors at Selformer are medically trained. For your safety, you must inform your instructor about any injuries or ailments that may affect your Pilates experience.

 

All instructors reserve the right to restrict clients to a particular class type for safety reasons. 

 

Pregnancy

 Pregnant women should inform the instructors about their pregnancy. We recommend pregnant women book a private Pilates class before joining a video class. Our prenatal policy is as follows: up to 20 weeks of pregnancy, clients can participate in all video, group, and private classes. Beyond 20 weeks, working out at our studio requires a doctor's clearance. Beyond 20 weeks, clients can only participate in private and video sessions. Please ensure not to book an advanced or intermediate class after 20 weeks of pregnancy. We encourage all postnatal clients to schedule a Private Pilates 1:1 class before rejoining the classes.

 

Late Arrival

We encourage you to arrive up to 15 minutes before class and enjoy our coffee bar. We have drip coffee, various teas, and light refreshments for purchase. 

Our classes are 50 minutes long, and we ask you to use 5 minutes before class to get dressed and ready with your belongings put away and 5 minutes after class to gather your belongings and sanitize your station so the next client can enjoy the room. 

If you anticipate being late, please email hello@selformer.com or Call the studio at 718-593-7498. Out of respect for our clients, instructors, and your safety, you will not be admitted 5 minutes after the scheduled class time for group classes and 15 minutes for video. It is the client's responsibility to clear the video room ten minutes before the hour, even if late.  If you are denied entry due to lateness, you may attend a later class on standby. 

 

Waitlist

Our system will automatically add you to class if a spot becomes available up until 12 hours before the scheduled class time.

You will receive an email confirmation when you have been added to the class from the waitlist. If you are on the waitlist and know you won’t be able to make it to class, please remove yourself from the waitlist online using the Selformer app on your mobile device. Your spot in class can be given away at the commencement of class if there is someone on standby waiting at the studio.

Standard cancellation policies apply if you have been added to the class from the waitlist. If it is less than 12 hours before the class, please check back on the app or website to see if a spot has become available.

 

Cell Phone Use

Please minimize or limit your cell phone usage while visiting Selformer. No use of speakerphones is allowed anywhere in the studio. No exceptions. If you must use your cell phone, please use text messaging or step outside to make a call. If you watch videos on your phone in our coffee shop area, please respect others and use headphones. 

 

Attire

For hygiene purposes, socks are required for all classes. Grippy socks are encouraged and are available for rent or purchase.

Returns Policy

All sales are final. Refunds will be issued in case of a merchant processing software error or if Selformer incorrectly processes a sale on the client's behalf. All return requests must be submitted in writing to hello@selformer.com within 7 days of the sale date.

Unlimited Memberships

Our Unlimited memberships is designed to accommodate your needs.

Unlimited All Access Membership: one video class and one group class per day.
Unlimited On-Demand Video Membership: one video class per day.
Unlimited Happy Hour Video Membership: one video class per day.

 

Lost Property

 

Although we do our best to look after your belongings, Selformer is not responsible for personal lost or stolen items.

 

Pets

Pets are not permitted in any Selformer studio, except documented service animals that have presented paperwork to the management or staff of Selformer.

 

Age Restrictions

You must be 18 years or older to use our facilities, for all of our in-studio classes.

No Children are allowed on the premises due to insurance liabilities.

Our priority is creating a safe and welcoming community. No Harassment

Selformer has zero tolerance for harassment based on race, color, religion, creed, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law. Violations of this policy will be addressed appropriately by management. Harassment is generally defined as unwelcome verbal or non-verbal conduct, based upon a person’s protected characteristic, that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion toward the person because of the character and which affects the person’s learning opportunities or benefits, has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with the person’s work performance, or has the purpose or effect of creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment. Harassing conduct includes, but is not limited to, epithets; slurs or negative stereotyping; threatening, intimidating, or hostile acts; denigrating jokes and display or circulation in the workplace of written or graphic material that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion toward an individual or group based on their protected characteristics.

Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, visual, or physical conduct of a sexual nature when:

Submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly;

submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for employment decisions affecting such individual or

such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment.

 

Examples of sexual harassment include unwelcome or unsolicited sexual advances; displaying sexually suggestive material; unwelcome sexual flirtations, advances, or propositions; suggestive comments; verbal abuse of a sexual nature; sexually oriented jokes; crude or vulgar language or gestures; graphic or verbal commentaries about an individual’s body; display or distribution of obscene materials; physical contact such as patting, pinching or brushing against someone’s body; or physical assault of a sexual nature.

 

Harassment and Discrimination Complaint Procedure

Anyone who feels that he or she has been harassed or discriminated against or has witnessed or become aware of discrimination or harassment in violation of these policies should bring the matter to the immediate attention of Selformer management at hello@selformer.com. No person will be retaliated against for making a complaint in good faith regarding a violation of these policies or for participating in good faith in an investigation pursuant to these policies. Selformer will promptly investigate all allegations of discrimination and harassment and take appropriate action based on the outcome of the investigation. Such action may include counseling, disciplinary warning, demotion, or termination of employment.

No personal, brand, or commercial video or photography is permitted anywhere at Selformer without prior written consent.
