  • What services do you offer at Selformer?
    Group classes We have a seven-person group class in a sunny, intimate setting. We provide open-level classes suitable for anyone, from beginners to advanced. We also offer advanced classes for individuals who have been practicing Pilates for at least a year and are capable of more challenging workouts. Occasionally, we feature special classes and workshops. Check the schedule on our app for announcements, or sign up to our email list to learn more about these special offerings. Self-service, on-demand video in private rooms This is where Selformer stands out! We've created a safe and private space for you to have your own Reformer to follow a Pilates workout at your own pace in a private room. Our in-house, custom crafted Pilates videos are led by certified instructors. Our well-equipped, cozy rooms provide the perfect environment for you to focus on your own Pilates practice with no distractions. Choose from a wide range of videos, including prenatal, cardio jump board, stretch and balance, beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes. Watch the video of your choice on a 55-inch touchscreen TV and use our Balanced Body Studio Reformer and variety of props. Simply pick your class, level, and instructor, and you're good to go. Duet room Our duet room is perfect for two people who want to work out together. You can choose from a session with a certified instructor or a video class. The duet room has all you need and more: two Balanced Body Studio Reformers with a tower and mat conversion, two Balanced Body EXO chairs, and all the props you can think of for a double fun workout! Group video Want to work out with up to six of your best friends? Are you celebrating a birthday or a bachelorette party and want to try something unique? Book our entire group room for up to seven people! Certified instructors are available for the group room reservation upon request. Group mat classes will be added to the Selformer schedule soon!
  • I'm new to Pilates. Which service should I choose?
    If you're new to Pilates, we recommend starting with a one-on-one private session with an instructor to learn the basics. You can also book a private, self-service video room for an Introduction to Reformer Pilates class. If you prefer a group class, choose an open-level class and let the instructor know it's your first time. We understand that starting something new can be intimidating, but with the help of our well-trained staff and certified instructors, you'll be a pro in no time!
  • How many times a week should I do Pilates?
    The ideal frequency for practicing Pilates depends on your fitness goals, current fitness level, and schedule. However, a common recommendation is to aim for 2 to 3 times per week. This allows you to experience the benefits of Pilates, such as improved strength, flexibility, and body awareness, while also giving your muscles time to recover between sessions. If you're new to Pilates, we recommend you start with 1 to 2 sessions per week and gradually increase the frequency as you become more comfortable with the exercises. For those looking to achieve specific fitness goals or rehabilitation outcomes, a more tailored plan created by a Pilates instructor or fitness professional may be beneficial.
  • Do you offer any complimentary classes?
    We currently do not offer a complimentary class, but we have a $15 introduction class every Sunday at 11 AM. Please book here Sign up to our mailing list for discounts and promotions!
  • What memberships do you offer at Selformer?
    We offer monthly packages and individual class options. Please get in touch with the studio at 718 593-7498 for more details and assistance in selecting the right package. Do I need to call the studio to cancel my membership? You can easily cancel your membership directly from your app or website dashboard. Log in, locate your current membership, and click the “cancel” button. If you require assistance or need to freeze your membership, please get in touch with the studio at 718 593-7498‬.
  • Can I take a single class at Selformer?
    Although purchasing a class package or a membership is more beneficial, we offer the option to purchase classes a la carte. Please check out our pricing and packages page for all the available options.
  • Do I need to bring anything to class?
    Please bring socks with you! We ask all our clients to wear socks throughout the entire duration of all our classes. We sell and rent socks, but we will not make an exception.
  • Can I bring my child to class?
    We adore children, but for liability reasons and out of respect for our other clients, Selformer is suitable for individuals aged 16 and above.
  • Can I bring a service dog to Selformer?
    Please ensure you have a valid certification for your service dog before arriving at the studio. No exceptions.
  • What if I need to cancel a class last minute?
    Life can be unpredictable. We understand, but we kindly ask our clients to adhere to our strict cancellation policy: 12 hours for video classes and 24 hours for private sessions. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • I'm pregnant. Can I take a class at Selformer?
    Pregnant women must inform the instructors about their pregnancy and book a private Pilates class before joining a video class. Up to 20 weeks, they can participate in all classes. Beyond 20 weeks. Advanced or intermediate classes should not be booked after 20 weeks.
  • I'm running late. Can I still attend my booked class?
    If you anticipate being late, please email hello@selformer.com or Call the studio at 718-593-7498. Out of respect for our clients, instructors, and your safety, you will not be admitted 5 minutes after the scheduled class time for group classes and 15 minutes for video. It is the client's responsibility to clear the video room ten minutes before the hour, even if late. If you are denied entry due to lateness, you may attend a later class on standby. ​
  • I have an Unlimited Membership. How many classes can I take per day?
    Our Unlimited memberships is designed to accommodate your needs. Unlimited All Access Membership: one video class and one group class per day. Unlimited On-Demand Video Membership: one video class per day. Unlimited Happy Hour Video Membership: one video class per day.
